Adults $50, Juniors $20 (under 16 as of 30 June 2025)

Must enter before fishing; fish caught before or on the day of entry are not accepted.

Prize Categories:
Big Four Bag – Longest bag of all four species, only your longest fish of each species included.

Four Big Four Bag divisions:
o Men Prize Value $500
o Women Prize Value $500
o Junior Prize Value $300
o Overall $1,000 cash

Prizes for 1st to 3rd longest fish in each Division and each species.

  • NB One major prize per Angler for their largest fish per species.
  • In the event of a Tie the first fish caught with be awarded the prize, and the second fish caught will be the next prize down.

Cash Prizes for Snapper - closest to average length per division.
Any anglers entered snapper will be averaged so they have one overall entry in the average length and mystery length prizes.

  • All drawn prizes (fish not caught) including, 5 X $200 mystery length draws, spot prizes and not won fish prizes will be redrawn if the angler drawn is not present at the prize giving at WSFC clubrooms (Date to be determined).


Prizegiving & Draws:

  • Prizegiving: May 13th WSFC Club Rooms Grantham Street @ 7:00pm
  • All anglers receiving prizes will be notified by e-mail. This is a licensed venue, no BYO permitted.
  • Complimentary Pizzas and Hot Chips will be provided.
  • Anglers must be present at prize giving for drawn and spot prizes.
  • Any decision of the Tournament Committee is final.

Fishing Rules:

  • Fish anywhere in NZ waters from 12.01am Friday 2nd April 2026, until 11.59pm Monday 27th April 2026.
  • Fish photos must be submitted by Midnight Monday April 27th .
  • All fish caught must be submitted on the app within 24 hours of capture
  • All fish must be caught using a rod and reel.


Measuring Rules:

  • Measure and submit as many fish as you like - Kingfish, Trevally, Kahawai & Snapper.

  • Measure photos must be submitted using the WSFC measure app - separate instructions for this are in the Competition Rules.

  • Fish length to the nearest rounded down to 0.5 of a cm.
    E.g 47.7cm = 47.5cm

  • Fish must be measured on their side and to the fork of the table on a standard measuring mat.

  • The mat must have a solid end on the measuring mat so you can clearly show the fishes nose starting at 0.

  • Your Big Four Tournament Registration number must be shown in the photo of the fish on the measure board.
  • Fish cannot be photographed after gutting/gilling - they must be in their caught state.

Safety & Weather:

  • Safety is the skippers’ and anglers’ (in the case of land based, personal water craft, or kayak) responsibility
  • Fair competition spirit required; breaches may result in exclusion.
  • Organizers accept no responsibility for injury, loss, or damage.

Protests & Disputes:
Submit written protests no later than 15 minutes after competition closing to President@WaikatoSportfishing.co.nz.

Disputes Committee’s decision is final.
